This Friday will see the final selection process take place where ladies and accessory designers will be screened for the Profile Fashion Show. Only 25 will be selected and this will showcase the hottest rising stars in fashion today!

We are delighted to announce that Maverick TV, Fashion TV and Croydon TV have all confirmed their coverage of the event. Ceri Hubbard, Assistant producer at Maverick TV commented:

We are very excited to be filming Profile for our television show, it is the perfect fit for our programme and we get to see the very best in new and emerging designers the industry has to offer. We will be shooting the event itself both the setting up process and exhibition as well at the catwalk show, backstage and the gala to ensure we film the full experience. We are very much looking forward to this.’

Little Black Dress project

Last Friday was the final deadline for the little black dress project so we got quite a few entries in on the last day. On the whole we were really impressed with the entrant’s dresses and amazed at how quickly the showroom filled up with Little black dresses in one day!! We had the meeting with Brand Alley on Monday and it went really well. Such a fantastic selection that it was a really hard choice just to get it down to 14! We will be contacting the finalists this week though we do not have a definite top 10 as of yet.   If we do not contact you this week then you were not successful and thank you very much for all your effort its a pity because I think that we could have picked 20 strong designs easily.

Next Wednesday 1st September Brand Alley and Fashion Enter are holding an invite only press day at the exquisite Mayfair Hotel to celebrate their collaboration together on the Little Black Dress competition. Top fashion industry journalists have been invited to attend drinks and high tea that will be taking place throughout the day, and to view fittings that will also be taking place at The Mayfair with some of the designs put to us by the designers that have entered the competition. The Top 10 unique and exclusive dresses based suitable for the BrandAlley membership base, catering for all shapes and sizes, will be sold exclusively on the BrandAlley site, offering their members a one-off ‘made-to-order’ sale.

British Designers @FC Boutique – Bath

The shop prep continues from arranging security options to hanging wallpaper to planning the launch party. Just when you think you have thought of everything another spanner is thrown in the works. Call me naïve but I didn’t know that you needed a license to play background music in a shop! What next – a license for breathing in public air! After a successful purchase of 4 lovely speakers on e-bay I set about researching the criteria for this music licence and swiftly applied for one online. More from Jojo
