Profile 6 is now delighted to announce Isabella Blow on the judging panel for the 160 designers that have applied for THE MAJOR LONDON EVENT on 20th and 21st September at Vinopolis. Unfortunately we can only accept 80 designers this season (space permitting) so it is going to be an exceptionally difficult job for the judges this season who include Gerry DeVaux and senior buyers and designers from Hobbs, House of Fraser, Debenhams and Whistles.

CLOSING DATE FOR DESIGNERS is Friday 19th August and due to the unprecedented demand this season there will not be any opportunities to review late entry applications from any designer.
The collections will be reviewed by the estimated panel on Wednesday and Thursday 24th and 25th August at the wonderful venue RumiBar 531 Kings Road London SW10 0TX. Tel 020 7823 3362.

Designers are required to drop off their collections between 0900 – 11.00am on Wednesday 24th where a representative from the LFF will receive the collection and sign delivery notes. Collection of your samples is required between 4.00 – 6.00 pm on Thursday 25th August. Each design collection requires a garment cover with the name of the brand clearly printed/attached on the bag itself. Each garment is to be labelled with the brand, style reference and indication of wholesale or retail price. So exciting!
We would also like to welcome on board two Media Partners for this season Chanel 4 Ideas Factory and Fashion Business International (FBI). Chanel 4 is a great link for Profile 6 and their logo “Get in, Get on, Get Creative” really says it all! Click here for further information http://www.ideasfactory.com/

Likewise FBI is a perfect mix for Profile 6. FBI unites the interests of European retailers with those of their global suppliers – a huge opportunity awaits for everyone.

Other news now – there is going to be a shortage of lingerie!! Due to new ruling regarding cheap Chinese clothing flooding into the country European Union limits on imports have left bras, sweatshirts and trousers (worth at least £550m) at the ports and warehouses around the UK.
“Smaller retailers are not going to have their autumn collections in time, even though they have already paid Chinese suppliers” Alistair Gray, head of British Retail Consortium has stated. “The big stores will also struggle and will have to source products elsewhereâ€. Actually every cloud has a silver lining and this is potentially good news for the UK lingerie manufacturing industry.

There is always so much going on at the LFF and FashionCapital that it is easy to forget VIPs – I would just like to acknowledge the hard work and efforts of Gareth Llewellyn and Alec Creed from Follow Me Technologies www.followme-technologies.co.uk. FMT have been so supportive behind the scenes at FashionCapital. The future concepts currently being drawn up for the phase 3 launch of FashionCapital are outstanding.
Don’t forget to read Kiki’s final diary entry on the Kingly Court boutique. It certainly acknowledges how much footfall we generated for Kingly Court itself.

Finally the team at LFF would like to wish Greg Baldwin all the very best in the future. Greg Baldwin has been working on the Creative Industries Sector at the London Development Agency and his advice, support and help has been very valued during a busy period at the LFF and FashionCapital.
Until next week.
