Hanging it all together for the fashion industry

What a mixed bag of fashion fortunes it is in the retail world!  In one corner we have the struggling Austin Reed with losses of up to £2.5m against £1.1m profit last year and in the other corner we have Ted Baker who is flying again with profits of over £5m compared to £4.6m last year.

How impressive is the Designer Profile concession at the Oxford Street flagship store of Topshop?! The merry designers took their stock in this Sunday and the early indications of sales look very good – fingers crossed for everyone.

We’re off to see Carol Meads tomorrow at The British Library; Vanessa and I are really excited about the huge potential of linking up with 1,000’s of images which will go into our on-line museum on www.fashioncapital.co.uk will keep you posted.

Finally thanks to all the well- wishers re moving home – I can’t pretend it was anything less than horrendous. The nervous tic in the side of my husband’s neck is finally subsiding!  Last week we had “Lost in Translation” and this week we have “lost in transition”!  Regrettably we are now down to one hamster not two…..”who left the hamster door open?”….hysterical children, the cat was smiling…..you can just imagine the fun!

Regards to you all.
