Oak Lodge School

 

Year 4 students at the delightful Oak Lodge School have been continuing the brand and collection project following on from the previous series of seminars taken place at the school. Today, the students reached the design stage of the process and presented each of their designs to the class in brand groups.

The student’s designs were extremely impressive having carefully kept in line with the project brief of following through the Design Cycle from the initial conception of an idea to the production of a garment, of which one talented winner will see their design produced at the Workshop in Haringey.

Taking the concept from the initial ideas, having created mood boards dictating themes and utilizing their new found knowledge of business tool; the 4 P’s of marketing to ensure the collection and garments within it will reflect the target market in terms of; price, product, promotion and place.

With a clear focus on a predominantly teenage target market, seen throughout the majority of groups in the year, the designs showed many bright spring/summer inspired garments.

Having worked exceptionally well in the groups for each designer brand, clear themes were featured throughout collections either via use of colour, silhouette and branding brought together in presentations to the rest of the class.

 

All designs are currently being uploaded to FashionCapital.co.uk to launch an online voting campaign to find the next budding Matthew Williamson or Vivienne Westwood in this exciting competition.
