Tara Smith

Tara Smith

Tara Smith is one of the most vibrant, innovative and respected young hairstylists in the industry. In demand on both sides of the Atlantic by leading magazines, film producers and high profile actresses and models alike, she's a previously hidden gem set to become a jewel in the industry's crown.

In addition to work in film, where her recent credits include Quentin Tarantino's latest production Grindhouse and Sex & The City: The Movie (LA Leg), Tara's work has been published in titles such as Elle, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue.

Tara works with many famous faces both on and off set, including Demi Moore, Patricia Arquette, Lindsay Lohan, Anna Friel, Angelica Huston, Marisa Tomei, Rosario Dawson, Gary Oldman and Ray Winstone.

English-born Tara was raised amongst all the trappings and tricks of her trade courtesy of her mum's hair salon. The skills and passion instilled in Tara during those early years inspired a glittering global career as one of the most in demand hair stylists in the world.

Although Tara has an enviable and highly celebrated client list, she does not class herself as a ‘celebrity hairdresser':

"I'm a little uncomfortable with that label – I don't really understand what celebrity means anymore. I am just incredibly proud to have worked with so many successful and passionate people"

By the time she was 30, Tara had travelled the world many times over, something that's given her an invaluable knowledge of different cultures to draw on for inspiration. Tara brings her passion for life, the simple and the exotic to every job:

"Hair, make-up and clothes are our most expressive assets. A great haircut should enhance your facial features while also accenting your personality. I think many hairdressers try and fit a person into a hairstyle. Personally, I believe it should be the other way round – I approach every cut with an eye for geometry while tailoring each look to the individual person or character".
