The fashion and textile museum colaborate with the LFF

Today the LFF visited The Fashion and
I can tell you that I was overwhelmed by the whole exhibition! The beauty of the colours and textiles truly represented the ethos of what Zandra Rhodes stands for.
This image represented the way in which Zandra Rhodes used the fabric and placed the pattern pieces into the cloth and work around the print.
The exhibition allows you to see her thought process by allowing us to view her sketch books, photographs, and silk-screens and hand painted drawings. There was also a light box on show with a beautiful illustration of a print which was then carried through to a final print. It was all very uplifting, the wonderful thing about this exhibition is that you get to see how Zandra’s mind works, she is completely in love with what she does and it shows!
Many influences were identified amongst her textiles from the 1970’s flamboyant prints to the 1980’s punk style through to
Zandra’s screen-printed and hand decorated textiles are truly amazing. There is in my opinion ‘No one ‘like Zandra Rhodes she is able to capture the visual interpretation of a culture then transform them into unique and eclectic prints.
I’m not going to reveal anymore about the exhibition if however you are a textile designer or just interested in fashion then I urge you to go and see this collection it is truly inspirational!!!
As promised we will soon be uploading the pictures from this exhibition into the online museum under the exhibition category. Once again a BIG Thank you to Michelle, we look forward to working with you in the future.
