09-11-2005

“Irresistible” and “Black Rose” joins the fashion team at Langley Park School for Boys

The six week Delivery Day course at Langley Park is proving to be a great success for both Langley Park School for Boys and the LFF. Eight new students arrived for yesterday’s course and there was a definite buzz in the air.

Irresistible: Valarie Osibona – Dulcie Adams – Leah Palfreyman – Ruth Ovia – Casey Thomas.

Black Rose: Harry Woollacoat – Zach Newby

The LFF were pleased to welcome Valarie Osibona – Dulcie Adams – Leah Palfreyman – Ruth Ovia – Casey Thomas from Irresistible and Harry Woollacoat -Zach Newby from Balck Rose.

During this weeks course the team reviewed the importance of trend boards and many students came highly prepared for the seminar. Some of the students had even developed their own sketches, submitted colour trends, inspiration, trims and even identified ideas for logos.

“Considering the students have never been involved in fashion I was incredibly pleased to see such a high standard” Jenny Holloway reported. “Some of the designs showed incredible intricate detail – it just goes to prove that fashion is so art based and creative. The secret of success for a fashion label is to also combine this skill with business acumen and that’s what we also discussed today”.

Vanessa Camelia also commented “It’s such a rewarding project to be working on. I am so surprised to see such enthusiasm and commitment from the 16-18 year olds – there really is a hot bed of design talent at Langley“.

The students were also informed of the forthcoming sessions which also Pattern Studio and also a visit to a CMT unit in Seven Sisters.

The next diary entry will be uploaded from the team of Irresistible – well worth reading!
