First day – Profile makes it BIG TIME
12-02-2006
David Howell from Harsh said “This has been fantastic for Harsh. By midday we had secured orders and loads of interest. I didn’t think it would be as good as this for us”.
Anila from Melenka and Mee, last seasons winners of the WCTA Huw Williams Tribute Award, said “I am delighted that we received such strong interest from Joy, the upmarket boutique. We have wanted to supply them for ages!â€
The Jatin Patel ladies on the stand explained that they had received more interest in the first half day than the whole of the last seasons two day event…! The collection looked stunning on the catwalk as did Crooked Knitwear too.
Orders were also received by Huate and CoJack with Isis Cashmere picking up a substantial order too!
The heating was a bit hit and miss (to say the least) especially by the trade sponsors stand, but all is being corrected over night ready for another day of action.
TBC has a street wear bias but it’s interesting to see so many of the buyers diversifying into new dimensions of fashion; sourcing new and upcoming designers.
The catwalk looked unbelievable! You have to be there to feel the drama and at the start of the Profile show K2C is previewed the Mayors initiative for Black designers. This collaboration clearly shows the way forward for fashion and, most importantly, it works.
Gigi Morley, the compere for Profile’s Gala night rang up today to wish us well (how good is that – a celebrity that really cares!). She explained how excited she is to meet the designers and review the wonders of true designer talent tomorrow evening.
Buyers, press and stylists MUST come along tomorrow and see real fashion. Marvel at the catwalk shows at 14.00hrs and 16.00hrs and see fashion that has style. Remember the Gala is strictly by invitation only.
Thanks to everyone for making the event so successful today. Tomorrow will surpass all expectations!
