04-08-2008
What could be better than wearing a top quality fashion accessory that you have created yourself?
Kick start your winter wardrobe with a fabulous leather, high-waisted belt made by you under the guidence of designer/maker Debbie MacPherson of Freeload Accessories in a one day contempory craft workshop at Craft Central in the heart of East London's trendy Clerkenwell.

Keen to dispel the traditional "twee" image often accossiated with"craft" Debbie has developed this unique one day course specifically designed to coinside with the hectic lifestlye of today's fashion lover; as Debbie explains,
"I realised that these days people often don't have the time or the energy to commit themselves to enroling on a craft course that lasts 10 weeks or more – this is why it was important to develop a course that could be completed in one session and is suitable for people of all levels. "

As well as the usual making guidence of how to cut/finish the leather and attachment of various metalware and fastenings the session will also cover basic design and pattern cutting. All belts will be made to measure from a choice of high quality leather hide with a range of chunky metal fastenings and fittings…Your creation will even be ready for you to take home at the end of the day!

The workshop, set in a friendly, informal enviroment is suitable for all levels of experience, there will be a choice of three belt designs for those that prefer instruction, although there will also be plenty of opportunity to add your own creative flair! No previous experience, tools or materials are required, it will all be provided.

This workshop will be held on Saturday 6th Sepember 10.00am – 3.00pm at Craft Central, St John's Square, Clerkenwell, London. The cost will be £50.00 inclusive of all tool and materials. Light refreshments will also be provided.
