Clothes Show Live
08-09-2008
I was lucky enough to visit the Clothes Show Live in December 2007 as a contestant for one of their nationally run competitions. And Clothes Show Live, being the largest fashion and beauty event in the world, they certainly did aim to please. The venue had been set up into five different colour zones separating different trends, tastes and styles, and also hair and beauty, and small stages were set up in each zone to promote their own main purpose. Top hair & beauty stylist's set-up make-over stalls and Maybelline (official sponsors of clothes Show Live 2007) had their own catwalk set-up where all the competitions took place and also where colleges and universities specialising in textiles and fashion had the opportunity to show off their students work, and a lovely array of contemporary fashion was displayed along with photography and posters designed by young, budding artists all over the UK.
Amongst the different zones you were able to find clothes within high street fashion and chic boutiques to vintage, designer wear and accessories from all over.
Despite arriving late, I was still able to see the infamously breathtaking show later in the fashion theatre (as well as get my fair share of shopping done), which displayed 45 minutes of pure entertainment. Models and dancers scattered across the stage full of life and energy, showcasing different trends that had been set through out the year. They strutted out in bold and crazy prints along with simple and elegant clothing as well as swimwear and underwear, where Caprice also made an appearance on stage, promoting her brand new lingerie range.
Not to mention the celebrities hosting the shows during this fabulous exhibition, such as Ziggy and ‘Samanda' from Big Brother 2007, Peaches Geldoff, and Jesse Metcalf and the amazing live performance from one of Britain's biggest selling girl group, the Sugababes.

Here's me showing off my poster design for the 'Design a Poster' competition.
