LFW Sept 08 – Marios Schwab
16-09-2008
Inspired by the traditional Khiton tunics of his greek roots, Schwab's fluidly draped jersey dresses infused with a touch of vintage glamour inspired futuristic luxury.
There were floor length and thigh skimming dresses in silk jersey harnessed in glittering, metallic rope sashaying down the catwalk. Schwab continued the high octane glamour with Swarovski crystal-encrusted silver rope into bodices that snaked around the body.
The same roping was tied in a criss cross pattern across dresses and skirts, even a whole halter top was made from it.
The colour pallet was subdued, mostly in washed out pastels, with splashes of stunning prints in turquoise, orange and pink. A geometric print rainbow shirt dress was simple and wearable.
Baggy romper suits in tan suede or striking colour detail were subtly cool, while cleverly conceived cut-outs gave mini dresses a nymphette sex appeal and were just as sexy on trousers that were split up the inside of each leg.
Yet another triumph for the rising star of LFW.
