LFW Sept 08 – Amanda Wakeley

17-09-2008

Staying true to her routes Wakeley displayed an exquisite collection with divine attention to detail, use of the ultimate fabrics and shapes cut to perfection. The Cruise 2009 Collection was inspired by the photography of Araki and Erwin Blumenfield with strong elements of Japanese cut.

Effortless draping contrasted with bold colours and textures oozed a glamorous ease, each piece radiating a summer glow to perfection. Shaped by Japan and fused with a safari style elegance it was simply stunning!

The colours matched the chic nature of the whole collection with cool shades of parchment, bone, kohl and white contrasted with bright accents of poppy red & ink.

Simple, crisp white, body con dresses were contrasted with flowing chiffon maxi dresses with an abstract red print. Tailored short and trouser suits added a sharp sophistication and of course the ever popular jumpsuit made an appearance.

Key pieces included the mini kimono, the bid tailored dress, the square cut cape and the origami folded dress.

Overall an absolute delight!
