Warehouse High Summer 09 Collection – Trend Report
28-01-2009
The collection never fails to impress at Warehouse and with the lure of goddess dressing and Moroccan prints, even in the time of a credit crisis the most vigilant will be enticed to unlock their wallets.

Layering fabrics are a must for next season and with Warehouse taking on this concept for their Summer 09 collection, sheer and light fabrics will allow this look to feel comfortable for a cool season ahead.
Inspiration from the Goddess warrior reiterated throughout with Grecian draping, flowing cottons and a nuance of lattice detailing. Gladiator sandals buckled up to the knee, some with fringing detail others accented with studs.

Layering chains hung around the neckline some paired with bib necklaces as seen at Marc Jacobs and Chanel and metallic snake skin made an appearance on handbags, gladiator sandals and leggings. A huge trend for next season remains with fringing and not only has Warehouse used detail on their gladiators but also on beachwear and oversized bags…be sure to get in early as they are to die for!

Much of the collection embodied a Moroccan style with rich palettes of burnt oranges, deep greens and fiery reds. Vibrant prints emerged all over and a hint of shimmering metallic was enough to set off the Arabian feel for summer 09. The relaxed and easy to wear look is shown through much of this collection with scarves and layering giving off a mix of Marrakech express with contemporary Bohemian style. Brocade and clean linens gave a soft and light touch to this trend with wooden accessories blending in with the rest of the collection.

Warehouse Organic included a range of key shapes for the season, made from organic linen and cotton fibres. An array of Whites, Greys and denim blues portrayed a clean, fresh feel for the imminent summer season.

Ruffle edged details and soft layers add a feminine touch. And finally for those humid summer evenings ahead the Spotlight Range comprised of opulent evening dresses in delicate silks and sheer satins which gave a soft, chic feel. One shoulder dresses combined gathered sides with ruffles and will be a must have for the season.
