Having just the looks is not enough to break into the fashion industry nowadays with the competition so fierce, it takes a combination of skills to make it and you will need to master all of the following below to reach the top, please remember all of the below points are not relevant to actual modeling but are relevant to business and life skills that you will need to learn.

Modeling is only part of the journey and you will need to encounter and master other skills which are not taught anywhere and only come while you are on the road to achieving your goals: determination, perseverance, consistency and failures.

The reality is that you need to be strong in mind, belief and focus to achieve any task or goal, so if you are a person who is not focused and are easily distracted then you may not make it. If you do not believe in yourself then you may not make it. If you are more interested in the TV then compiling your CV or building up the skills you will need that will whether the storm, then you may not make it?

If you are not able to push yourself when you're mentally or physically weak, then you may not make it?

If you are not able to stay up all night when you need to, then you may not make it?

Success is not taught to us in schools or colleges otherwise everyone would be successful and everyone would be rich and famous, so you have to make a decision to sacrifice something's in your life because success is not instant nor is it easy to attain, so initially you may focus on becoming more effective in achieving 5 tasks a week that will bring you closer to modeling full-time, these 5 multiply to 10, 15, 20 etc and before you know it you are automatically achieving your goals without having to be so conscious about it and then you can move on to master another skill and so on and before you know it you start to see results and progression in your life and it makes the journey bearable sometimes, exciting the other and not to mention you will have many low points and you will need to have positive, uplifting people around you to keep you motivated.

You will become successful within the modeling industry once you start to apply yourself with consistent application.

In my case, I have always wanted to work for myself and it took me years of having to work two jobs just to get started, so I would work full-time from 9-5pm and then I would come home and work on my computer from say 7-12 or later just to get things started but I did feel satisfied that my dreams where being pursed which was the main thing.

Following my dreams have always been important to me and no matter what  – I have been consistently applying myself to my tasks and goals weekly, monthly and yearly and this skill is crucial in achieving anything in life.

For years, I had to work voluntary to just get my foot in the door with no pay and still having to juggle a full-time job and extra activities in the evening/weekends etc and sometimes you may not see results for weeks or months but it's a funny thing because when you feel low or before you get to that point something great will happen to lift your spirits and make you energized for the next weeks and months so it works both ways – but that has been my sacrifice to become successful and I would not change my decision even if I could replay my life again from scratch.

The work continues – UP NEXT WEEK!!

Until then please review your Things to DO List below – Stay focused!!

Things to do this week:

1)      What skill do you need to master?
