Stand Out From The Crowd!

PART 1: COLOUR
I am a huge fan of brightly coloured hair. Mine is currently turquoise, and I have been through my fair share of hair colours over the last 5/6 years. Now, I reialise that this approach is a little "permanent" for most people, but this is my favorite compromise.

Clip in hair pieces are an awesome way to temporarily add a bit of colour to your hair, without having to use coloured hairspray, which (lets be honest) doesn't look great at all, and is VERY messy. Clip in hair pieces are re-useable and you can get them in every colour under the sun. They are available for £4 (pack of 2) from Claire's Accessories.
Neon makeup is another cool way to stand out, but it is difficult to find really well pigmented neon cosmetics. For eye shadows, my favorite neon colours are from the ‘Kryolan UV Neon Aquacolor Palette' which is often available on EBay from various sellers. People looking for a cheaper alternative to this should look no further than Barry M's range of dazzle dusts, available from Superdrug and Boots.
If you want to be a little more delicate with the eye colour, I would recommend giving GOSH's range of brightly coloured pencil and liquid eyeliners a go. Not only do they come in some stunning colours, but they will stay on all night long (seriously, their extreme art liquid eyeliner is actually difficult to remove!)
For nail varnishes, I currently love China Glaze's INK range, available at Sally's Hair and Beauty Supplies. Even without the amazing display stands, the colours are pretty standout!

For those of you who are really feeling brave, you could always take things to the next stage by adding neon eyelashes to your look! For full on strip lashes, Stargazer has an incredible range of rainbow and neon eyelashes. Stargazer lashes are on sale at most larger New Look stores.
For a slightly more subtle look, I like Eylure's individual neon lashes. These are available from Superdrug. Just pop a few right at the outside edge of your top lash line for a subtle flash of colour.
That about wraps it up for Part One; make sure to check back with Fashion Capital really soon for the next installment, exclusively for www.FashionCapital.co.uk, on the ‘Dark and Dramatic' approach to standing out from the crowd from Orestea frontwoman Lisa Avon. www.myspace.com/orestea.
