The Face of Barking and Dagenham

24-08-2009

Vicarage Field Shopping Centre was the place to be with the wannabe models all strutting their stuff for the top industry expert judges. The girls did a fantastic job and really showed that Barking and Dagenham has some great hidden talent!

The contestants

Joyce Johnson, mother of two of the contestants Lovette and Faizah commented:

‘I think this is a great idea to boost the morale of the youth of today at this time. With the recession and all the doom and gloom this is a great opportunity. I have one daughter who got through to the final and one who didn't but it doesn't matter. What counts is that it's a real boost for the youth of today and just what Barking and Dagenham needs.'

The girls were judged by one of Mahogany Models top models Dorothy Tenkorang, one of Dynamic Models top bookers Michaela Harewood who has worked with clients such as Fashion TV, Carnival Films (new much hyped BBC show Material Girl out in September) and Coutts London Jewellery Week, Director of Fashion Enter, Jenny Holloway and international make up artist Eryca Freemantle. Their combined knowledge and experience of the industry made sure the right girls have been put through to next weeks final!
