FC set to cover Copenhagen Fashion Week
03-02-2010
An invitation from the Gallery Int. Fashion Fair in Copenhagen is enabling FC to experience Northern Europe’s largest fashion event. A jam packed schedule of catwalk shows, press openings, meetings with designers and of course after parties has been organised and we are very excited to be bringing you a unique insight into the Danish fashion industry.

Copenhagen Fashion Week has existed since 1964. Initially the shows in Copenhagen were seen as the lead-up to the Herning Fair, where Messecenter Herning held the first international shows with participation from other Nordic textile- and clothes manufacturers. From 1966 the fashion week in Copenhagen was a sales fair known as the Scandinavian Fashion Fair. It focused exclusively on Danish and Scandinavian women's fashion.
On the catwalks are a growing number of new and known Danish talent with a preview of their upcoming collections. Then at the three trade fairs, CPH Vision, Gallery and Copenhagen International Fashion Fair, you will find an additional 1,100 exhibitors representing a total of over 2,300 international brand name collections.
Danish fashion is known for its unique angle on design, innovation and aesthetics. With a more modern approach to femininity and functionality, expressed in fresh silhouettes, a focus on details and incomparable quality. These are only some of the reasons why more than 50,000 buyers, designers and global press attend Copenhagen Fashion Week twice a year.
Then there is of course Copenhagen itself which is also a major attraction. A unique metropolitan city with an array of interesting design venues and architecture we will certainly be making the most of the photographic opportunities so expect trend reports and an exciting gallery of images.
Copenhagen is fast becoming a pivotal player in placing itself firmly on the fashion map – watch this space for a unique insight!
