27-04-2010
How many times have you felt bored and opened up your favourite shops website, and then seen something and ordered it. You are amongst the many other people that do this as well, the 50% benchmark was reached in February, and in March it started reaching up another 1%, showing that the majority of the British population shop online from the age 15+.
Online shopping has increased in the past 2 years, the “e-shopper-index” shows that 3.7 million people have become online shoppers over that time period. So what is everyone internet shopping for?

Mike Hare, Research Director of The British Population Survey states: “Recent technology developments, particularly in the area of ‘roaming’ access via both laptops and hand held devices, are clearly playing a part in the development of the availability and convenience of Online Shopping services. This has been particularly evident by an increase in laptop ownership from 34.15% of households in March 2008 to 53.03% in March 2010”
The population of people who have access to the internet still continues to grow now, having grown from 73.92% in December 2009 to 75.99% in March. The ration grew from 17/20 internet shoppers to 18 or 19/20 now. As the internet population grows so does the population of internet shoppers, with everything being available at the touch of your fingers, what will be the next step?
