Leather For 2010

20-08-2010

Seeing as Autumn is on its way its time to start looking at sensible warm clothing, rubbish I know but that’s how it goes. It’s no secret that the leather jacket has always been a staple piece to any wardrobe especially over the last few winters gone by. However it seems that come Autumn 2010 women’s leather clothing is rapidly being launched onto a whole new level as it seems that leather can pretty much take the form of any item of clothing that you could have in your wardrobe. If you can name it, the chances are its already been sent down the runway, trousers, skirts, shorts, coats, underwear, accessories, vests, they’re all there.

You will find that underwear worn as outerwear is also a key trend for fall 2010, so it is no surprise that the wondrous realm of leather has snapped it up. It seems that since Yves Saint Laurent sent leather corsetry pieces down the runway, leather straps and harness like bondage elements seem to be leaking into the mainstream of fashion. Along with it will follow the leather bags and belts, which we all know have always been around, however, leather leggings were a big hit on the runway for fall 2010 and I can assure you that other types of leather accessories in 2010 will become more common.

Unlike 2009 where there seemed to be a never ending array of leather colours, 2010 colours for leather will consist mainly on monochromatic and earthy tones (like teal green), and possibly expect to see a comeback for grey leather. Black as we have always known will be the safe option for any occasion, but some may like to opt for the tans and browns that are set to hit the scene.

Timeless fabrics such as leather are continuously and repeatedly revived and re-invented year after year changing traditional looks into fabulous new creations, the fall 2010 leather fashion trend is a perfect example of this. Leather is adding a sophisticated sense to fashion when managing to not only create looks for the cold Autumn and Winter season, but also creating daywear out of this difficult fabric. So if you want to make an impression in 2010 scout yourself a few statement leather pieces for your wardrobe.
