Debenhams’ Decorations
30-11-2010
The cold weather and snow is thought to be the reason behind the early festive mood, encouraging customers to begin decorating their homes with trees, tinsel and lights!
Debenhams have said “The bad weather has made it feel like Christmas, and so everyone is saying, ‘Forget tradition, and seasonal dates. It’s been a tough year, we need a break, so let’s get stuck in’”. I must say I agree; with constant news of the recession and spending cuts from the government, it feels nice to forget about those troubles in the build up to Christmas and embrace the festivities.
Many consumers must certainly agree, as the sales of Debenhams’ tinsel, tree, fairy lights and other decorations were reaching a record high this November. Due to the early start of this years Christmas celebrations the festive season is set to last for six weeks this year!
Christmas is always a time to lift spirits and brighten your day, adding a sense of excitement and magic to the end of the year. The increase of decoration sales shows that it is exactly what everyone wants and needs this year.
