A Doii’s house

21-02-2010

The Walk in the Forest collection was full of spectacular sparkly dresses and printed garments, making it refreshing to see an Autumn/Winter show that didn’t overdose on the black, grey and browns.

Doii stated very early on with the highland themed music she wanted to tell a story, and with the inspiration coming from her natural exotic habitat we were in for a sight of rich coloured fabrics detailed with roses, doves and goats.

It was eccentric, sharp and courageous, and hard to believe that this was Doii’s first time at London Fashion Week. The leg warmers particularly stood out for me, as they were fluffy with black and white sequins, which created an image of the Russian Princess in a Winter Wonderland.

Being a girlie girl myself, the maxi dress with fruits printed on it, and the deep deep-sea blue dress that looked like a snowflake also caught my eye. They were surreal and glamorous, with lace detail often in places that gave the outfit an edgy twist.

With all the feathers, furs, sequins and bold flowers this show was the dress up box that every girl wanted when they were growing up. Chic dresses in vibrant colours are what she rocked at and long may it continue.
