How to begin selling your fashion designs online
03-03-2010
Two sites I would recommend:
Etsy and Republika Fashion
Etsy is great if you are a bit more of a casual designer. You can sell internationally but most of the users are from the US. Brilliant if you are from the US or looking to break into that market. Not so great if you are from the UK and trying to keep shipping costs down.
The volume of traffic on Etsy is immense. However, there is also a lot of competition. Make sure you stand out. You must have great photography, interesting items and witty copy.
For Etsy you need to know how to market your shop. Use their Facebook tools and take advantage of tagging, featured items and photo slots.
