LDA commits to new seminars to help SMEs

12-03-2010

The London Development Agency (LDA) has launched a new set of seminars to give advice to medium and small businesses to try and help them get out of the recession.

This new intervention was announced during an event to showcase the economic benefits created by regional development agencies; this was held by business secretary Lord Mandelson.

These new seminars by LDA have been supported by the bank of Scotland and Lloyds TSB. These Banks have expert knowledge, such as financial and business planning, to help business owners and managers to improve there businesses and give advice on opportunities to expand.

The seminars have been built from last year’s success of 14 smaller workshops that helped 1,000 SMEs. These were supported by experts from KPMG, PWC, Ernst and Young and Deloitte, all introduced as part of the Mayors economic recovery action plan.

The smaller workshops have helped to develop the new seminars, as the feedback from them gave a greater insight to what businesses want advice on. Within the new seminars there will be a large number of networking opportunities; this allows the great number of participants to discuss the real importance of the SMEs.

LDA’s seminars are part of their wider business support programme. This programme helps SME’s to benefit from opportunities created by operating in a dynamic and world leading city.
