Sandra Phillipson 1951 – 2010
12-10-2010
With profound sorrow we have to announce the recent passing of our incomparable co-director Sandra Phillipson who passed away 4th September 2010.

For 12 months San has been unable to work due to serious illness that, in December, was diagnosed as terminal cancer. This she subsequently fought for 9 months fearlessly, defiantly, positively and with characteristic humour. On 4th September, at the too, too young age of 59, San was taken from us. She faced this illness with the same courage & sense of humour as she faced the world and with the same absolute belief in the power of her mind and of positive thinking. Even this battle she did not lose – she just came in, bare-knuckle & too close to the end of the fight.
San was loved by everyone and will never be forgotten by anyone who knew her. She touched countless peoples lives and always for the better. The world is a far better place as a result of her 59 years.
Second only to her family, one of San’s many passions were her businesses. From the late 70’s, hand in hand with her husband Geoff, she was fundamental in driving and inspiring Alchemy to the international success it enjoys today. Likewise in 2000 San & Carole Hunter combined their complimentary skills to launch Londonedge to an enthusiastic audience and it has gone from strength to strength since. Whilst never full time with Londonedge, San relished her every involvement in the show. She was immensely proud of Londonedge and the essential contribution it makes to its’ buyer and exhibitor companies.
In the experienced and safe hands of a long-established and determined team with Carole, San’s daughter Kelin and Jackie Farr at the helm, it will continue to thrive and grow just as she had dreamed.
We miss her beyond measure.
