What Makes a Manufacturer Ethical – 4th August Masterclass
05-08-2020
On 4th August 2020 Caroline Ash delivered her hugely successful masterclass on ‘What Makes a Manufacturer Ethical’.
As part of the N17 Creative Callings project Caroline divulged her extensive knowledge and experience in garment manufacturing to an audience of new business start-ups all eager to learn the first steps of manufacturing their designs ethically.
The free online zoom session was delivered free of charge to the latest recruits on the N17 project. Supported by the Mayor of London and the European Social Fund new creative businesses living in the Tottenham CEZ area have exclusive access to FashionCapital masterclasses as well as a year’s worth of free business mentoring and support.
The two-hour masterclass covered topics such as factory standards and audits, what makes a factory compliant, what to look for when visiting a factory, lean manufacturing and digital design tools such as Optitex.
Caroline also provided examples of good and bad factories and went through a list of important documentation such as a layplan, docket and fitting log.
Overall another fantastic masterclass with in-depth knowledge and top tips shared.
