06-10-2016

Led by our Perfect Patterns tutor and pattern cutter Alice alongside Dawn from Textile Skills Academy, FashionCapital welcomed textile technology teachers from local high schools to provide them with hands-on training, leaving them with the knowledge needed to be able to produce basic patterns.

The Textile Skills Academy (TSA) provides support to secondary school textiles teachers in the UK through the use of industry experts and education presenters.   Founded in January 2015 by Dawn Foxall, the academy delivers relevant practical workshops for Art, Textiles and Design & Technology teachers to support and aid their own delivery of the curriculum.

Having joined forces with FashionCapital, we have together been able to provide teachers with the exact guidance they need, often informing them further than they expected, giving them something new to take back to their students.

Upon their most recent visit, the teachers spent their day with Pattern Tutor Alice who guided them through the process of creating basic patterns.
