Job Description:
As a sourcing director, you will have the say over everything. Your job role is to secure the highest-quality raw materials, goods or services at the best possible prices. This requires continuous monitoring of market conditions and industry trends. Among the considerations sourcing managers must analyse are materials inventories, global demand and vendor quality. To make the most advantageous acquisition decisions, a savvy sourcing manager will need to stay abreast of supplier innovations, visit vendor facilities and participate in trade shows. Once preferred providers have been identified, contract negotiations may commence.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate understanding and influence of market conditions affecting category strategy or approach
- Collaborate with legal and functional business owners to negotiate regional and global supply agreements
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and manage to continuously improve cost, quality and other performance factors
- Build and maintain relationships with key business and functional stakeholders to ensure compliance to company policy
- Quantify and report as required on contract savings
- Lead junior team members advising on strategy, performance management, etc.
Skills:
- 10+ years of global sourcing and procurement experience preferably within financial services
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of strategic sourcing concepts
- Experience managing multiple projects requiring frequent communication, organisation, time management, and problem solving skills
- Team player with strong initiative, flexibility, and positive attitude
- Excellent communication, organizational, project management, time management and problem solving skills
- Strong ability to effectively work in an environment with changing priorities and multiple internal clients
- Flexibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent analytical ability especially when dealing with large data sets and complex problems
- Master’s degree preferred
