Assistant Machine Maintenance Engineer are responsible for supporting the Machine Engineer in the continuous running of industrial sewing machines and equipment.
Maintenance engineering plays a vital role in the efficiency, development and progress of manufacturing and processing industries.
Maintenance engineers work with other professionals in order to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.
Responsibilities
Ӣ Taking direction and supporting the Machine Engineer
Ӣ Assisting with routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults;
Ӣ diagnosing breakdown problems;
Ӣ fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly;
Ӣ carrying out quality inspections on jobs;
Ӣ arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components;
Ӣ controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment;
Ӣ monitoring and controlling maintenance costs;
Ӣ dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs;
Ӣ Following all health and safety policies and procedures;
Ӣ working with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines;
