Repair and Reuse is Fashion’s Way Forward

Exciting news for Fashion-Enter Ltd and the fashion industry. We are thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Makers Unite, a textile creative agency rooted in ethics and sustainability based in Amsterdam.

The new partnership will create a London branch of the United Repair Centre situated at FEL’s Factory in Haringey. Officially commencing from 1st November the partnership will focus on repairing stock and returns from major sustainable brands such as Patagonia.

FEL CEO Jenny Holloway said: “We are absolutely delighted! This new collaboration means that our amazing stitchers can be fully employed on creating new garments out of old! We have already undertaken trials and these proved to be very successful. After such a long dark tunnel there is now a great bright light on the horizon and it’s right for the industry and our glorious artisans too.”

FEL Smashes TOMs Targets!

Since opening the FC Designer Workspace, we have used the National TOMs (Themes, Outcomes and Measures) framework on a monthly basis, this not only ensures FEL is adding social value within its business structure, but it provides crucial information to project partners, in FEL’s case with the FC Designer Workspace – Islington Council.

To date FEL and the Workspace initiative has delivered £794,327 of social value in just three years so we are very ahead of our contractual target which is to achieve £1.1m over a ten-year period. This is brilliant news for the team at the FC Designer Workspace and accompanying retail unit the FC Designer Collective, and it underlines what FEL is all about – putting people and communities first.

Why Learn Tailoring with Us?

Because our recent external assessment from the Skills and Education Group states that FEL’s Fashion Technology Academy works to a very high standard within a professional premises.

This is excellent news for the FTA and its Tailoring provision. When learners complete a course with the FTA the team always provide an exit survey and those from the Tailoring course comment that ‘the facilities are amazing and that Francesco is a fantastic teacher,’ which cements the positive review from the assessor.
