Dear all,

Industry Support for UK Garment Trade Workers

This week began with a visit to Leicester to deliver a workshop for fashion and textile manufacturers entitled ‘Drive Your Profitability.’ The workshop attracted a great collective of etailers, retailers, brands and garment manufacturers.

Jenny Holloway comments: “I was blown away with the honesty and commitment to upgrade Leicester and have a contingent of ethical garment manufacturers. The discussions today reflected that manufacturers and retailers can work as one and one etailer even brought two of their manufacturers with them!”

Manufacturers at the workshop admitted how they often have no choice but to make garments for next to nothing…and, yes, this is still happening right now in the heart of the UK. However the tide is turning, the Factory here in North London is working proof that factory’s can work transparently and ethically with fair-pay and high standards. Time to readdress the balance!

With our very own CEO Jenny Holloway in attendance Marquel’s designs opened the show before a 1,000 plus crowd.
