Work Experience & Apprenticeships

At Fashion-Enter Ltd we are open to all, regardless of age, and this includes the very young, those at secondary school trying to figure out what course or career path to take. It can be overwhelming knowing what to do after GCSE’s and each industry, including fashion, has so many niche areas. Over the past month we’ve had young adults join us for work experience, at three of the FEL campuses, to see for themselves the various departments and job roles at FEL. We are also part of the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network and actively engage with employers to commit to and provide apprenticeships in the UK.

It’s Not All About Money!

We’re delighted to confirm that all the good work we have been undertaking is finally paying off with TOMs for Islington.
The total Social Value delivered for April totals £155,387.59
The team at FEL strives to offer free quality advice and support within the borough for businesses and learners.
Gee, FEL Development Coordinator commented: “I’ve just been promoted and working with the FC Designer Workspace and FC Designer Collective is just so rewarding. I’m constantly coming up with new ideas to add value to the two sites and I love interacting with our tenants, learners and charities like Crisis.”
If anyone has any new ideas that they would like to coordinate please email: georgia@fashion-enter.com
It All Starts From Level 1…

The team love to hear how individuals have progressed and one recent example is Taylor, a former Level 1 Stitching student. It’s fantastic news that Taylor, who started out on Level 1 Stitching is now at the University of the Arts London, on a fashion degree course.
FEL CEO Jenny Holloway said: “This is exactly why we are a social enterprise engaging and working with the local community. There is such a sense of pride and fulfilment when you teach and work alongside creatives that literally grow in confidence and blossom!”
Workshop Fun at Westfield

A big well done to Westfield shopping centre (London White City) for promoting recycling and sustainability with their Westfield Good Festival.
On bank holiday Monday FEL team members hosted two workshops Refreshed Threads an upcycling workshop, and The Perfect Fit where participants could learn different hand stitching techniques to achieve the correct fit. FEL’s CEO Jenny Holloway, also presented a masterclass, ‘Behind the seams of ethical and sustainable fashion’ to talk about ethical and sustainable practices in the industry from audits to greenwashing.

Jenny commented: “It is unusual for Fashion-Enter to do consumer-facing events but this was really enjoyable, it was really well organised by the staff of Westfield and Amplify. We had such positive feedback from all the participants on the day.”
These free workshops will take place again at Westfield Stratford on Thursday 1st June – tap here to find out more and for the links to book your place.

End of Year 17 for FEL

Jenny commented: “Well, that was a tough year, as it was for many companies and individuals. However, we’re leaner and fitter than ever before and now we certainly know who our friends are too. A huge thank-you to N Brown, Very Group and Community Clothing who have all been excellent. New accounts such as Vivien of Holloway have been fantastic as well.
“Our relationship with Kornit Digital has continued to grow and we’re delighted with the development of a major account in the USA too. We’re currently working on the next big thing (of course we are!!!) and hope to make an announcement in the next few weeks.
“Due to an unexpected disappointing year with a core account FEL has to undertake a restructure; we’re in the middle of that now!
“A huge thank-you to all the staff who are just outstanding and have been as solid as a rock over the last six months! Year 18 has much to offer!”
