11-03-2020

Newsletter 11th March 2020

Dear all,

Coping with Covid-19

As reported in Drapers today the Bank of England has announced extra support for small and medium-sized businesses amid the global coronavirus outbreak. The bank announced an emergency interest rate cut from 0.75% to 0.25% along with support lending schemes.

Here at FashionCapital HQ we are monitoring the situation closely to ensure the health and wellbeing of our teams across the factory and educational departments. As the numbers in coronavirus cases rise in the UK we wish those that are ill a speedy recovery and wish everyone else good health and safety at this difficult time.

STEM & Fashion with City Lions

Today we will be talking to schoolchildren about STEM in Fashion via the City Lions Westminster learning programme. City Lions provides cultural, creative and educational opportunities for school children aged 11 – 16 within the London area. Fashion Enter CEO Jenny Holloway comments: “We are delighted to be going to City Lions today, there is so much changing in the world of fashion and what people don’t realise is that there is more to fashion than just being a designer. We really welcome this opportunity to explain and let the students explore all the options.”

See You at Make It British Live Next Week!

Fashion-Enter and its sister brands will be back at Make it British Live! 17th & 18th March at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London. Now in it’s 7th year, Make it British Live! has established itself as the UK’s leading sourcing event for the complete supply chain. As a Made in Britain manufacturer we have fully supported this event from the outset. Come and find us on stand G24 as well as on stage to discuss ‘How to find an ethical factory.’ Click the link for more info: Make it British Live!

Repairing and Reprocessing

We currently have a team working on reprocessing orders at the factory. What is reprocessing? It’s when an embellished garment cannot be sold due to missing details such as beading, embroidery, stitching, patches and other decorative surface work in need of attention. Once the item is fully repaired it can be added back onto the marketplace and sold. A win for all concerned and a positive way to tackle stock waste. factory@fashioncapital.co.uk
