13-06-2023
The interline.com has just published an article, 13th June 2023, on the PhygitalTwin X Kornit X Fashion-Enter collaboration, at the ITMA exhibition in Milan last night.
ITMA is the world’s largest international textile and garment technology exhibition. ITMA highlights innovations that will help textile and garment manufacturers transform and grow their business.
The article began: ‘PhygitalTwin pushes the boundaries of fashion and technology, showcasing the seamless integration of innovative printing techniques and sustainable practices.’
It went on to say that Kornit Digital hosted the live catwalk show in front of 200+ VIP guests to present a collection conceived and executed using sustainable digital production capabilities exclusively as digital goes mainstream.
The article continues: ‘Launching the GamerCore capsule collection designed for digital natives who inhabit the no-man’s land between the Real and the Virtual – an infusion of manga and machines, Formula 1 and pit girls, where AI means authentic identity.
‘PhygitalTwin pushed the boundaries of fashion and technology, showcasing the seamless integration of innovative printing techniques and sustainable practices. Together PhygitalTwin and Kornit will revolutionise the future of textile production. ‘
‘Waste reduction is at the heart of what Kornit and PhygitalTwin strive to do with their proprietary on-demand model. All the designs are conceptualised in 3D first before being printed direct to fabric, minimising water consumption and raw material inventory. ‘
These designs are then printed and made for the physical world at Fashion-Enter’s micro-factory situated in North London. The idea is that anyone seeking to launch their own fashion collection will be able to go to the PhygitalTwin marketplace and customise the collection themselves using state-of-the-art 3D technology.
Louise Laing, Founder and CEO of PhygitalTwin told The Interline: “I’m thrilled to have been a part of ITMA 2023 and close the catwalk with Kornit. The rise in Phygital fashion has paved a new pathway for democratisation and my goal has always been to ensure that we help build a more sustainable future for industry participants.
“I launched PhygitalTwin to allow creators, influencers, and businesses the chance to explore new revenue streams and offer them new ownership opportunities and access to digital technologies not widely available in the industry today. With virtual try-ons, customisation, digital skins, and physical clothing our partnership with Kornit and this collection does just that.”
FEL CEO Jenny Holloway added: “It’s been absolutely fantastic working with Louise and seeing her amazing concept come to life. Made to demand on home turf is the way forward for fashion – no more mass reductions, landfill and unacceptable carbon footprints. It has been great to work with such an amazing visionary and entrepreneur.”
