^The Fashion Fix^ – 2020 Trends
In the fashion world, a new year indicates a fresh flurry of style aspirations and trend-making possibilities – delivering an energising and empowering vision, which will determine how we will dress for the year ahead.
Being fashion addicts, there’s no better buzz than discovering the top aesthetics that are expected to be major trend contenders and for 2020, with several looks predicted as total must-haves.
From an abundant of rose-infused prints and shockingly, striking colours to lustful leathers in buttery, vivid shades and an assortment of accessories including big bags, rope belts and bucket hats – 2020 fashion is certainly setting the tone.
We all know by now that no spring trend report would be complete without the inclusion of a floral reference.
Roses are the chosen botanical flower for 2020 and are seen best rendered in prints on dresses at the likes at Richard Quinn, Alexander McQueen, Prabal Gurung and Miu Miu. Honing in on roses makes the spring collections feel especially elegant, guaranteed to enlighten a mood with their versatile and visually appealing, vivid appearance.
What better way to step into spring then in the brightest, most eye-catching colour of them all – Neon.
Seen paraded on an array of diverse and desirable materials, neon green with hints of mint and pistachio were strikingly splashed over diaphanous tulles in Kermit green at Valentino, pretty lace at Christopher Kane and sensual satin at Carolina Herrera to name but a few.
Super Soft, Colourful Leather
A rainbow of vibrancy has been seen to saturate garments bedecked with buttery soft leathers in recent months, particularly favouring varieties of vegan and faux – the material all designers are excited to incorporate into their collections next season.
From New York through to Paris, colourful leathers were spotted on the Spring 2020 catwalks exhibited in an array of forms – from vibrant jackets at Bottega Veneta and Coach 1941 to skirts and trousers at Alexander McQueen and Marni.
Oversized Bags, Rope Belts & Bucket Hats
Go big or go home is the statement for bags come next season, featuring ample storage from designers such as Altuzarra, Marni, Philip Lim, Stella McCartney and Off-White.
Ropes doubling up as waist belts are additionally predicted to be a big trend for 2020, with a selection of twists and knots seen tied around those including Rag & Bone and Christian Dior.
Lastly, it is envisaged that everyone will be donning bucket hats next Spring. All designers such as Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Anna Sui and Kate Spade have jumped on the bandwagon with a trend that will do anything but leave you in the shade!
Until next time, xoxo, Katie.
