The Code 1 team participated in the N17 Creative Callings programme to gain business strategy and financial insight. As a new community group the team wanted clear advice on long term financial planning and possible areas of funding and investment. Andres at Fashion-Enter ltd set up meetings for the Code 1 team to meet with Nigel Rust and CEO Jenny Holloway. Nigel has been advising small businesses since 2005, firstly on government funded programmes (Business link and the Manufacturing Advisory Service) and, since 2010, as a freelance advisor.

Nigel provided a full overview of all the salient reports a business needs to successfully keep on track. This includes P&L, balance sheets, sales forecasts, cash flows, pricing strategies & understanding margins for omnichannels.

Nigel also covered the following key areas:

After this free support and targeted advice Code 1 Community Group were successful in gaining National Lottery Community funding.

Fashion-Enter CEO Jenny Holloway commented: “I so admire Beverley. She has this can do attitude. When we first started to work together there were all kinds of plans for fundraising events for Code 1, and then of course there was Covid. However Beverley seemed to reinvent herself.  She became an absolute force of nature helping people in the Haringey Community that needed support during the pandemic. Now she’s working part time in the Bernie Grant Arts Centre and excelling in new ways but she is still working hard on Code 1 applying for new rounds of funding for the future growth of creatives in Haringey. Fashion-Enter Ltd has pledged support for Beverley and that will continue long after the N17 Creative Callings program completes. It’s a pleasure to get to know you Beverley and you so deserve your success.”
