N17 Creative Callings: Sales Success for J’Adore Hardcore

06-04-2022

One year ago, stylist, DJ and creative director, Chema Diaz joined the free N17 Creative Callings (N17CC) programme to gain essential business support and advice for his fashion brand J’Adore Hardcore. The London based Spanish national had already built a niche following with his bold style that combines pop culture and in-your-face slogans with erotica amongst the clubbing and LGBT+ community.

Joining the N17CC programme in January 2021, Chema was eager to gain professional industry advice to take his brand to the next level. His business goals included the need to improve his production, gain reliable suppliers, increase points of sale, strengthen brand recognition, hire employees and to find an investor. Additionally Chema was in need of some solid legal advice as he had already experienced copyright issues with his designs being replicated by another brand.

Following his first mentoring session with Fashion-Enter CEO Jenny Holloway business goals were defined and a plan of action put in place. Alongside regular one-to-one mentoring sessions Chema also joined the Level 2 pattern cutting course to hone in on his understanding of the design and sampling process.

Now, just over one-year on and several meetings later, the Fashion-Enter team regularly meet up with Chema to offer continual industry support in both business and production, and the brilliant news is J’Adore Hardcore sales have gone from strength to strength and have increased by almost 40 per cent.

Chema commented: “I started the N17 Creative Callings program over a year ago and during that time I’ve improved my skills in stitching enormously. I know what’s good quality and I can make garments myself. I have someone I can call on whenever I need advice and I know Jenny will only do what’s right for me and my brand.

“I’ve now got 4 interns and they have been to the factory and had support on how garments are made. These interns are invaluable to my business and the sales have increased. With all the issues in rising costs Jenny has allowed me to buy buttons, elastic and trims at less than cost. When there was a recent IP issue Jenny was there again. I’m about to do a new shoot and I’m using Fashion-Enter’s equipment. More importantly I have grown and I’m a much better CEO. I plan more and I’m more confident. All this is free support and it’s been totally invaluable. I don’t want the N17 program to stop for sure.”
