Social enterprise, London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) has sustainability at the heart of its Early Years organisation and Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) is thrilled to continue to support them with ongoing, sustainable textile production.
LEYF’s social purpose is to change the world one child at a time by creating a catalyst for long-term social change. By providing high quality Early Years Education and Care, supporting parents back to work, generating jobs for young people and campaigning for fair Early Years policies, LEYF is helping whole communities to thrive, now and in the future.
In 2022, LEYF were proud winners of the Nursery World Eco-Friendly Early Years Award and the Planet Mark Employee Engagement Award for championing an eco-friendly approach in everything they do – from management and resourcing, to recycling and educating young children about sustainable development.
Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) has been a LEYF sustainable partner for nine years – from making staff pinafores to face masks and children/staff aprons. FEL has utilised deadstock fabrics and now, Kornit Digital printing technology ensures LEYF products have minimal impact on the environment.
FEL is now producing 1,000 LEYF tote bags using deadstock fabric which reduces excess fabric from going to landfill and FEL’s brilliant, eco-friendly Kornit Digital printer.
Jenny Holloway CEO of Fashion-Enter comments: “We are delighted to continue to work with LEYF and use our end-of-life fabrics in such a productive way. We’ve used advanced technologies from Kornit for printing the LEYF logo and Kornit really do provide the most efficient and sustainable textile printers on the market today. Being sustainable and teaching young children about the importance of protecting the environment is high up on LEYF’s agenda and we couldn’t agree more.”
June O’Sullivan CEO of London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) adds: “As another award-winning social enterprise, we’ve been working with Fashion-Enter Ltd for many years and champion their values of putting ethical garment manufacturing at the very heart of what they do. These new sustainable tote bags will be put to good use across our 39 nurseries, and we look forward to more collaborations with them in the near future.”
