It has been a difficult academic year with the disruptions of COVID-19 but credit to the pattern tutors that successfully transferred the face-to-face classes so they could be taught online with Microsoft Teams without compromising the high standards of attainment and learning experience for the learners.

Despite a difficult time for everyone with lockdowns the feedback has been excellent from the learners as evidenced below:

Learner A commented: “I liked designing my own garments and then using my new skills to, create the pattern to then make the samples.”

Learner B said: “I enjoyed relating what I learnt within my own designs, I think it was beneficial to always create toiles of my pattern first.”

Learner C added: “ I really enjoyed making the real size toile because you actually see all the pattern cutting perfectly and how it fits.”

Credit to the entire teaching team at the Fashion Technology Academy for achieving high quality results and setting many learners on the right path for industrial careers or creating their own range.
