ISIF Suppliers First to Undertake CRF Workers’ Rights Award
07-02-2022
Fashion-Enter Ltd is currently underway with the Community Renewal Fund (CRF) initiative, in collaboration with Leicester City Council and De Montfort University, to support and educate Leicester’s vibrant manufacturing community.
First up we have engagement with Onyx Fashion Ltd, a supplier for the online fashion etailer I Saw It First (ISIF). 40 Onyx factory workers will undertake the Level 1 Award in Workers’ Rights.
This initiative provides the perfect opportunity to build on initial investments and strategies the ISIF team have already begun to ensure an ethical and sustainable future for the business. The workers will cover these key topics:
+ Types of employment status
+ Employment types
+ Employment rights
+ Pay and salary
+ What is exploitation and who is at greater risk of being exploited
+ Organisations that support victims and help to prevent labour exploitation
This accredited award has been developed with Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) and enables the workforce to understand their legal rights and what to do if action is required.
More factories and workers from Leicester and the surrounding areas are set to join the CRF initiative over the next few months.
