FC Designer Workspace: Hashtag Made IV Me & Diva Choice Unite for a Fashion Extravaganza
09-08-2022
On Friday 5th August there was an amazing buzz in the air at the FC Designer Workspace on Durham Road. One of the talented designers at the space, Marie and her brand ‘Hashtag Made IV Me’, was having a launch event supported by entrepreneur Tricia Blake from Diva Choice.
Due to funding from Cooperate Islington / Brilliant Coops for Tricia the event was hosted to create marketing awareness and sales and the Workspace and studios became packed with attendees.
A carefully crafted display was on show from designers Marie and Tricia in one room, a catwalk space was created in the middle gangway, while refreshments and goodie bags were available from central cutting table. Compere Quincy took the mic and kick started the show that celebrated colour, pattern, diversity and individuality.
Garments from the collection were created with infusions of different fabrics from mixed cultures, themes, and eras to bring a uniqueness and make the individual glow. Some of the fabrics/prints used are a mixture of Ankara prints that showcase Marie’s African background.
The collection preview did not disappoint, as you can see by the images…

The funding for the event was made possible via Cooperate Islington following a successful funding bid made my Tricia, we managed to catch up with Tricia on the night and she expressed that she is ecstatic that the show went well for her fellow designer Marie, she went on to state the following: “It is always a pleasure to support another woman in business, I have been in business for 10-years and still need guidance so it is my pleasure to be able to mentor someone that does not have as much experience as me to showcase their designs for the very first time. This is the first of many projects to come.”
Talking about her collection Marie said: “Women are beautiful and strong, and I used the concept of flowers to illustrate how gorgeous and diverse we all are. My designs are created to bring my customers personality and confidence to the forefront, I aspire for the INNER LOVE felt when creating this collection to shine through when the customer is wearing the items.”
A full team was available from Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) to support the designers including Beth, Sue, Nick, Jenny, Rishita and Ana. Jenni Sutton was also there to say goodbye too. The Development Director is stepping down after 17-years at FEL for pastures new. Jenni was inundated with flowers and good wishes so it was a befitting end to a great career.
Jenny Holloway, FEL CEO commented: “We are now approaching the first year opening of the FC Designer Workspace and this was just one great event. The community came together as one and credit to Tricia for thinking of all the details that made this event special. We need to ensure all the tenants are using both the Workspace and the Shop on Fonthill Road to maximum capabilities to generate sales.
“So much has happened in 2021/22 with COVID, higher inflation, Bank of England warnings of recession and of course the war in Ukraine which is creating pressure on prices. We must review current costs of the two sites and it’s inevitable that prices will be increased for rent. By hosting events like this creates new revenue streams and publicity and this is vital for all local businesses.”
