Fashion Gifts for Teens

10-07-2020

If you have a teenager who loves fashion, or if you’re looking to get your most fashionable friend a present this year, you might feel like you’re stepping on eggshells! Fashion is famously dichotomous, things are either in, or they’re out, but that doesn’t mean you have to stress over getting a gift for a fashionista. Here are some ideas to help you give a gift that they will adore.

ABC of Fashion – Hardy Amies

Classic Books

Fashion and beautiful books go hand in hand, and there’s always so much to learn from styles of the past. Greats like Hardy Amies had the ABC of Men’s Fashion and Dior had The Little Dictionary of Fashion (but a book of his favourite recipes wouldn’t go amiss either). If you get down to your local bookstore, poke your nose in the fashion section and pick something timeless that also looks beautiful and aesthetic. Chanel or Vogue books always make coffee table classics but make sure it is something that will give the recipient actual value (if they love gawping at photographs maybe a coffee table book is okay!).

Correspondence Cards

Hand-written letters and notes will never go out of style, especially if you provide some beautiful and fashionable correspondence cards. It’s a lovely way to express yourself, but it also helps if they have gorgeous handwriting.

Fashion Show Viewing Party

In the very likely chance, you can’t wrangle tickets to Paris Fashion Week or the other important dates this year, why not watch them at home! You can stream them on your TV, gift some ingredients for mocktails (or just some pre-made mocktails) and let the recipient choose what food everybody eats by giving them some food vouchers from Gifts Vouchers. It’ll be a great night in and a lovely, memorable event.

Small LV Prints

Depending on your budget, you might be able to get something small with a traditional Louis Vuitton print. Look for smartphone soft cases, cardholders and more to give them something iconic.

Marc Jacobs tote bag

A Designer (Tote) Bag

Companies like Marc Jacobs offer affordable tote bags so you can give a designer bag without it completely breaking the bank. This year they’ve opted for the simple print ‘The Tote Bag’, but in previous years they have been known to print with humour – their 2012 Tote was an insider favourite as the writing printed on it read: “Jacobs by Marc Jacobs for Marc by Marc Jacobs in collaboration with Marc Jacobs for Marc Jacobs.” It’s a bit hard to find nowadays, but if you look hard enough, your efforts won’t go unrewarded if your recipient has a sense of humour.

Sewing Machine

Of course! What better gift for somebody who loves fashion than the ability for them to make their own clothes. Sewing machines can also be complemented with several gifts down the line, like sewing lessons and exotic, beautiful fabrics. You might want to pair this with sewing lessons straight away if you’re a parent, as it will help the recipient quickly develop sewing skill and give them the excitement and ability to take their hobby to a new level.
