Fashion – Enter Staff & Learners Create Ponchos for Local Homeless Centre

10-12-2021

Back in November one of our very generous Fashion Studio clients donated some rolls of fleece and FS Assistant Gee came up with the idea to create warm garments for a local homeless centre.

After researching design ideas Gee and the team came up with a simple poncho design, ideal for layering over clothes and free from sizing and fastening constraints. As a social enterprise Fashion-Enter is keen to endorse giving back to charity, and in particular, local community.

Over the past two-weeks tutors Ana and Lan have been busy working with their learners to create the pattern and stitch the ponchos which are now ready for delivery. Here is Taylor wearing the poncho design.

A big thank-you to everyone for assisting with this project, it has provided a brilliant opportunity for staff and learners to get involved and ‘give back’ to those in need during the festive season. 200 ponchos were made and have been delivered to Mulberry Junction, a dedicated resource centre in Tottenham for people affected by or at risk of homelessness.
