Introducing: URBAG ® A Stylish & Sustainable Solution to Unnecessary Dry Cleaning Plastic
07-06-2021
Founded by Marie Callan URBAG ® is a young start–up with big ambition…to shake up the dry–cleaning industry and eliminate the unnecessary use of plastic.
The URBAG® story is defined by a passion for sustainability and innovative design, along with the determination to make a positive impact in the world. Marie Callan (pictured below) started her journey into sustainability over 15-years ago working with social enterprises in the UK and overseas. She ran a number of charities and start-ups with a focus on eliminating plastic packaging and helping build a better future.
It became apparent that plastic waste was becoming one of the biggest issues facing humanity. While the issue of single-use plastic was attracting attention, no one seemed to be addressing plastic waste from dry cleaning. URBAG® came to life when Marie was on her second maternity leave, after many tried-and-tested prototypes and conversations with industry leaders.
After the huge success of URBAG’s® first collection, the brand will be presenting a second collection, handmade in Wales by Fashion-Enter, on Saturday 12th June, at the Zero Waste Goods Summer Fair in Old Spitalfields Market, Commercial Street, London E1, from 11am to 5pm.
To celebrate the launch, URBAG® are offering a 10% discount to all members and followers of Fashion-Enter/FashionCapital until Sunday 20th June with the code: FashionEnterJune, valid online and at the market stand on Saturday 12th.
