Dr Kaine From The International Specialised Skills Institute Australia Visits and Tours FEL

23-04-2025

The International Specialised Skills Institute (ISS Institute) is an independent, national organisation that works with Australian governments, industry and education institutions to enable individuals to gain enhanced skills and experience in traditional trades, professions and leading-edge technologies.

Fashion-Enter Ltd welcomed Dr Kaine, 4th April 2025, and her assistant Lisa Piller, an ISS Institute Fellow, with a tour an overview of Fashion-Enter Ltd’s (FEL) leading site in Haringey. Hosted by CEO Jenny Holloway and Director Caroline Ash, Dr Kaine learnt about FEL’s local, ethical, and one-piece-flow manufacturing business model. She also got to see first-hand Style3D’s Styleverse Innovation Centre – showcasing digital avatars, 3D prototyping, along with traceability tech (via Galaxius Systems QR codes). As well as FEL’s repair partner, United Repair Centre, and FEL’s education department, Fashion Technology Academy.

Dr Kaine had previously visited the Wallace Sewell weaving studio and the London College of Fashion, rounding off her visit with FEL.

Dr Kaine’s assistant, Lisa Piller commented: “Thank you to Jenny Holloway and Caroline Ash for this visit to Fashion-Enter Ltd. Their Styleverse Innovation Centre was a highlight, and during my visit, they were mid-run on some exclusive Nick Cave merch (UK-only sadly!).

“I now need to do justice to this incredible experience by writing up my fellowship report, which I look forward to sharing.”

Jenny Holloway added: “It was genuinely great to welcome you! You can see the importance of true and transparent collaborations in action with United Repair Centre, Style3D and MAEKNIT INC, and with tariffs hitting over the 100% mark today with China – the urgent importance of making locally!”
