Apprenticeship Entitlements April 2017

In line with an increase to the National Living Wage and the National Minimum wage in April 2017 apprentices will also see a wage rate increase from £3.40 to £3.50 per hour. Other hourly rates per hour will see a 0.5 to 30p increase depending on age as the table shows below:

Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they’re either:

    aged under 19

    aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship

Hours apprentices are paid for

Apprentices must be paid for:

    normal working hours (minimum 30 hours per week)

    training that’s part of the apprenticeship (usually one day per week)

Holidays

Apprentices are entitled to at least 20 days paid holiday per year, plus bank holidays.
