10 Out Of 10 – The Fashion Technology Academy Gains Top Notch Feedback

15-09-2024

FashionCapital’s sister company Fashion Enter has evolved into the UK’s leading provider for technical training in the fashion sector. Driven by demand Fashion Enter has responded to change and growth in the marketplace resulting in the development of the Stitching Academy, closely followed by the Fashion Technology Academy (FTA).

As the range of technical skills and courses continues to evolve the company strives to offer informative hands-on learning to all FTA students – whether on a short course or a two-year apprenticeship. The FTA operates alongside a live factory that is Fast Forward approved as an A++ supplier for ASOS.com and other retail clients such as M&S. The factory now outputs up to 10,000 garments a week – all that industry knowledge accessible under one roof.

Fashion Enter also provides essential CPPD courses as well as accredited CPPD training at Level 3, providing vital feedback and genuine advice to retailers such as Primark, George, M&S, Arcadia Group, Silk Fred, Fat Face and many others. These on-site CPPD sessions cannot be taught from textbooks, it’s about living and breathing the factory’s technical production to gain real insight into working in an ethical and sustainable manner.

The demand for T-skills and continual learning in the fashion industry is clearly there, Jenny Holloway CEO comments: “I really do believe, as a high quality training provider, the entire team goes that extra mile at the Fashion Technology Academy. Our teachers and tutors are outstanding. We want learning to be fun and inspiring. We want to ensure everyone we teach has a real positive experience.

“I do feel frustrated however when I meet new designers and there is just no awareness of technical construction; how can you effectively design a knock out range if there is no appreciation of fabric, construction, stitching machine capabilities, needle sizes, threads etc. To be an outstanding designer you need to understand body, technical construction, fit and form.”

Fashion Enter strives to create the best learning experience possible so feedback forms are always issued after every course or CPPD and as you can see the comments and the high score ratings speak for themselves…

“Really useful! This is the best training I have been on yet at Arcadia.” Megan

“Really interesting and helpful. Held my attention the whole time. Came away with a lot of new information. Will affect the way I think about factories.” Alice

“I found the outside seminar information to be very informative. I would highly recommend this seminar again to fellow BAA/ABS.” Samantha

“It just blew my mind, when I did the TR pattern cutting course it was like, wow, like a bolt went off in my head.” Chionma

“I would definitely recommend the Fashion Technology Academy to anyone that wants to learn to sew or even to grow their technical skills. The courses provided cover a broad range of topics and as a beginner there is fantastic support given to you by brilliant and talented tutors.” Ese
