Newsletter 3rd September 2014
Dear all,
We are just moments away from launching our new look www.fashioncapital.co.uk. Over the last few months we have been working with Iqbal Ullah and his team to take www.fashioncapital.co.uk to the next level. Each section has been pared back so that navigation is easy to use and yet packed with essential industry information. The layout has been developed with our in-house designer Beth Davy-Day and incorporates a strong, clean aesthetic. The site is in its ‘soft launch’ phase so we welcome feedback and comments – positive and negative. Please send your comments to the editor jojo@fashioncapital.co.uk
Official launch to follow.

Did You See Us in the Financial Times?
We’ve been so busy preparing the new website that we forgot to mention the rather big story of gaining some column inches in the highly respected national The Financial Times. Journalist Tanya Powleyinterviewed Stitching Academy qualifier Khadra Osman about her experience on the course that helped her land a two-year apprenticeship with Marks & Spencer.
The article continues to discuss the essential need for such training and apprenticeship schemes to ensure that the UK manufacturing sector continues to thrive. Followed by the news of a New Year launch for the Fashion Technology Academy with the capacity for 1,620 places a year by 2019.
While we are on the Topic of Successful Apprentices…
Chelsea Williams landed an apprenticeship via Fashion Enter’s programme with online retailing giant ASOS.com as a Buyers Assistant. She has subsequently been selected as one of the apprentices to front the latest National Apprenticeship campaign across the country. You can now see Chelsea featured on posters, the official apprenticeship website http://www.apprenticeships.gov.uk and in the campaign video.

Jenny Holloway comments:
“I always knew Chelsea was special! We are all so proud of you.
