Hasso Fashion To Launch in Newcastle upon Tyne
21-03-2017
The launch event for the brand will take place in the Live Theatre, Newcastle upon Tyne, on 28th March between noon and 9pm.
The brand was inspired by E Hasso & Sons, a shop owned by the founder’s grandfather, who sold British, Italian and Swiss luxury menswear in Iraq. The inspiration created a new company called Hasso Fashion who produce mid-priced commuter clothing and accessories and is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, the city where grandfather and grandson were reunited.
“Reinventing the brand has been an interesting journey – exploring ideas, designs and materials whilst being true to a brand’s historical values has been very fulfilling,” says the owner and CEO Matt Henderson (pictured left). “Thinking about what the brand might have done today has meant finding some very high quality manufacturers, moving online, and introducing womenswear to the range.”
Finding high quality production throughout the supply chain has been an essential part of the development process, so too has finding the right people to work with. Spreading time between London and Newcastle has meant greater access to events and networks – something Matt is keen to see grow in his home city.
“The North East needs more fashion events, and awareness of fashion enterprises to encourage growth, so I decided to really broaden out the guest list for the launch,” says Matt. “As well as the usual launch activities, we hope that local creatives will come together to join us in celebrating this milestone for the company, and come away with greater value.”
