Real Insights: Entering and Surviving in Business

As part of Social Enterprise UK Week Jenny Holloway, CEO of Fashion Enter, chaired panel discussion Real Insights: Entering and Surviving in Business. Enabling attendees to pitch questions to a panel of successful local businesses and entrepreneurs, the evening was held at 639 Enterprise Centre and was followed by business networking allowing further questions to be asked and business advice to be shared.
The panel gave 5 local entrepreneurs the ability to share their stories and business advice with those in attendance. From law to management and security to cookery the panellists gave insight into a variety of industries.
Equip Law
A commercial legal advice business founded by Esther, Equip Law provides legal support and resources in business, intellectual property and employment law. On hand to answer those burning questions surrounding contracts, Esther gave insight into how the business was set up and what it can do for future entrepreneurs.
Frame Perfect Management
Founded by Teelo, the Frame Perfect Management team provides visual development within the fashion industry and acts as a platform for the future generation of models and creatives for brands in need of specific services.
Plan It Well
Describing how Plan It Well helps clients and businesses to understand their personal business, founder Ebony discussed that the company are able to help those looking to start a business understand the concept and specific industry they are planning to enter.
Secure On Site
Secure On Site (SOS) is a private security company that provide security services to the UK only. Victor highlighted how the aim of the company is to provide a wide range of security features to clients and was on hand to advise why security is crucial.

Oratus Enterprise
A virtual business solutions company founded by Neema, Oratus Enterprise specialises in virtual personal assistance and is based in the UK. Understanding that setting up a business and running a business is time consuming, the company is able to provide virtual assistance with tasks faced each day.
Tokunbo’s Kitchen
On a mission to bring the best taste of Nigerian food to the UK, Tokunbo Koiki founded and set up Tokunbo’s Kitchen which provides cookery classes, event catering, personalised intimate dining experiences and food for parties and celebrations.
On hosting the panel discussion Jenny commented;
“What an amazing panel we had tonight – 5 truly creative entrepreneurs who were so generous with their words of wisdom and advice. Tukunbo from Tokunbo’s Kitchen never started off wanting to be an entrepreneur and is now being touted by investors for her Nigerian recipes. Neema has 40 clients in just one year for her business Oratus. Ebony stressed the importance of knocking on doors and resilience in her business Plan It Well. Teelo is head of a creative team for fashion visual development and delighted the packed audience with his real determination to be the best he can, and finally Esther the CEO of Equip Law who wants to really help and make a difference to people’s lives.
