Originating from New Orleans, America, the jazz age was a combination of African and European music that dominated the region spreading across the country sailing over to Britain and many other European cities with a vibrant music style that all could dance to. Whether at a party or at home, the popular genre was played by radio stations giving listeners a feel good time. The roaring 20’s, as it was also known, saw women take control and enjoy a much more sociable lifestyle than they had once known, and their clothing reflected this. From flapper dresses to beaded evening gowns, the social change gave women the ability to dress differently and become more glamorous.
“From Paris and London, to New York and Hollywood, the decade following the Great War offered the modern woman a completely new style of dressing.”
